Space Available
Course closing date: 5/3/2019
Location: Landmark Centre
Your Instructor(s) will be: Agata Tuszynska

Agata Tuszynska grew up Catholic, not knowing that her mother was Jewish until—at the age of 19—this secret was revealed to her. In this presentation, Tuszynska recounts her journey to uncover her family’s history during World War II: life in the Warsaw ghetto, her Jewish mother’s marriage to a handsome Polish young man, as well as her mother’s work building a family and a Polish identity in the post-war homeland. Through her story, Tuszynska addresses her own personal identity, dilemmas and decisions, as well as her work confronting Polish antisemitism.
