Alec is a graduate of CWRU School of Law (1973). He spent over 40 years as a litigation attorney, the last 26 years of which were in the personal injury and medical malpractice areas at Dworken & Bernstein, L.P.A. Prior to that, he was a founding partner of Friedman, Gilbert & Berezin and devoted his time to a diverse litigation practice. During that time, Alec also served in part-time positions as Prosecutor for the City of University Heights and subsequently as a Visiting Judge in Shaker Heights Municipal Court. Upon retirement in 2016, he helped form the NORTHEAST OHIO BOARD OF ADVOCATES for the OHIO INNOCENCE PROJECT, and he served as its first chairperson.
